Photo of the Day: 01/25/2010

My mom wants me to get bigger luggage for my trip.  All the pasalubong she wants me to take home does not fit in the box she packed and will certainly NOT fit with my clothes.

Zumi Digital 2.0

Hmmm, I seem to be finding a new thing to obsess about every day.  Today, it's the Zumi Digital Camera 2.0.  It's like the miniature digital version of a Holga.

There's something nostalgic about looking at old photographs and in this digital age, no photo looks old anymore.  For photography enthusiasts, there's always film.  There's Lycas and Holgas and all these other wonderful cameras and then there's also the darkroom.  For techies, there's always Photoshop.  But what about for someone like me who's sort of in between?  Well, that's where the Zumi comes in.  It has the unpredictable qualities of a Holga that is made for someone with little photography background.  It's also extremely convenient to lug around because it's palm-sized.  Oh yeah, and it takes video too!!  All for the low price of $190.  Cool, huh?

Sample pics taken by the Zumi:

Foie Gras and Eggplant

I had dinner with my mom last night at Orris and as usual I ordered my staples.  I was too hungry to take pics of my food but I had to stop and take a pic of the foie gras.  It was orgasmic (to say the least)!!!

One of my fave bloggers, Chuvaness, blogged about a luxury buffet at Mandarin Oriental's Paseo Uno restaurant.  KRMN has already been bugging me about making reservations and we won't be there for another month or so.  :)  My aunt knows the restaurant's GM so I'm sure we won't have a problem with reservations.  I can't wait.  I am already salivating at the thought.  I hope their selection lives up to the foie gras at Orris and Animal.

Vacation Time...ETA 17 days

No, that's not where I'm headed (although I wouldn't mind)...but in 17 days, I will be going on a long vacation...the longest vacation I've ever been on - one entire month!!!  Albeit, a short month but a month nonetheless.

I'm going to the Philippines to visit friends and relatives and I'm hoping to squeeze in 3 beach trips while I'm there.  It's so hard to make any plans when I'm not there physically to contact all these people and it's even harder when they don't respond to emails or FB posts!!!  I hope my brother has some success though.  I'm trying to get my itinerary straight so I can pack appropriately.

Can you tell how excited I am?  The last time I was in the Philippines was in 2007.  Although I had a lot of fun, it was also extremely hectic because I was there for a short time (12 days) and prep for my cousin's wedding took most of my time.  This time, I have more time to hang out and relax.  Can't hardly wait...

DO NOT SHOP AT BEST BUY!!!

I repeat, DO NOT SHOP AT BEST BUY!!!

Not only do they have sh*tty customer service, the sell EMPTY dvds!  That's right, EMPTY.

I was ready to watch Shooter tonight but guess what, I can't!  Granted I bought this dvd a while back but typical me, I stuff it in my dvd case without opening it.  Now when I want to watch it, I can't coz it's EMPTY.  As in, there's nothing in the damn case!

So, I call the store and 1.) they give me attitude and 2.) they tell me there's nothing they can do.  So, they take my money and sell me a dvd case.  Thanks guys, I don't need a F*N dvd case, I want my movie!

WTF!  I hope they go under like Circuit City did.  That's what they deserve.
