What's in a Name?

My original name before my grandmother had it changed.

DEVI
Gender: Feminine
Usage: Indian, Hindu Mythology
Other Scripts: देवी (Sanskrit)
Derived from Sanskrit देवी (devi) meaning "goddess". Devi is the Hindu mother goddess who manifests herself as all other goddesses.

thanks db i found mya's name there and the sanskrit translation i've been looking for.

here's the meaning of her name:
MAYA (1)

Gender: Feminine

Usage: Indian, Hindu Mythology

Other Scripts: माया (Sanskrit)
Means "illusion" in Sanskrit. In Buddhist tradition this is the name of the mother of Siddhartha Gautama (the Buddha). This is also another name of the Hindu goddess Durga.

darn! now it almost made me regret not putting that extra "a"
